They saw a 100% of investments and made a significant profit.
This is the highest grossing independent film ever.

Gross of the weekend was £3,523,102.
Ranked number 1.

3rd Weekend - 

£4,226,074

4th Weekend - 

$3,634.285.

The film didn't have a great first weekend which meant the film got well known through ratings and word of mouth rather than advertising.

Submarine

The UK Film Council gave £7007,500 of their New Cinema Fund for new/first time directors this was half of their overall budget. 
Film 4 and Channel 4 set are set up for niche markets.
They also received £200,454 from Optimum releasing to distribute the film. 
Film agency for Wales funded £100,000.

Shown on 64 screens. 
Gross of the weekend was £270,785.

Summary- 
Per screening it made £552.
It made around £1,500,000.
It peaked at 10 cinemas.

The Hunt For Gollum

The UK Film Council funded the film but at this point if was becoming BFI.
Based in Sheffield. 
Film 4 backed the film so Channel 4 also help fund the production.
