Risk Assessment

We had quite a few risks to look at in our filming process. The first was that we needed Jo's little sister who is quite young so we had to get permission from her mum who kindly agreed. We then had the smashing of a glass but when we take this shot there will be absolutely nothing on the floor or around besides the camera, we will then edit Jo and her sister in to look like they were stood there when the glass was smashed. Once the glass will be smashed we will hoover every little bit up and ensure no one is hurt or injured by it. The final risk we have to look at is the roof but luckily there is a safety railing to stop anyone going past or falling over. Here is a permission slip that we created to for Jasmine's mum to sign to let us use her as a cast member:

Initial camera shots.

Here are several shots that I took of 'Jo' to get a feel of how we are going to run and film it. As you can she there are lots of experimentation going on with shot types and lighting. There are lots of mid back body shots because you don't see many of them and they show initiative and originality. There are also close ups on different body parts to express something or let the audience know what is happening. These shots also show lots of different lighting. We liked the fact there was different lighting because it meant we could make certain shots work and use different angles to show something off that wouldn't be seen normally. We also took lots of close ups of the face to show how she felt but how she was showing it as well.

Shot Ideas

This image are pictures we took of the setting. We chose to use this location because it is empty and looks unloved and not cared for which is the perfect setting for our final production. As soon as I saw the location i knew it was right because it consisted of everything that we wanted and needed to ensure we made a good film opening.

Sounds

This first sound we thought we could add to our final piece is a car driving by at the end to show Jo was high up and near danger.

This next sound is the sound of birds singing and we thought it would be good to add to the film because it would create a sense of being outside and distancing the audience a little so they aren't too involved in opening.

This is the sound of an elevator moving that we thought would be useful to just dub over the original to give the audience the full effect of a lift.

This sound is very similar to the once before but it differs in that it is the elevator doors opening which we thought we would dub over the original sound.

The last sound we experimented with was smashing glass that we would add on top of the original sound to give the audience the full effect but also make the glass smash seem more realistic and ambient.
